Karl Lagerfeld

The Man Behind The Shades. How would you describe this man? -amazing? -inspirational? - visionary? -blooming fantastic?! If you haven't already fallen in love with Lagerfeld and his ideas, you will. He is the one of the most gifted and fantastic designers ever, and for those who don't know who he is, he is the ideas behind Chanel, Fendi and his own collection Karl Lagerfeld. He is a complete genius with so many ideas- its suprising he hasn't run out of them! He is most well known for his catwalk ideas such as the 'fairground' and the giant bags and jackets, and not to forget how no one has ever seen him without wearing sunglasses! Lagerfelds style is more punk/ rock & roll and this does come across in his designs-perhaps this is what i like about him and his designs? The idea of Chanel not using bright colours in the designs is what makes it so different and unique. I love how Karl has carried on the legacy of CoCo Chanel, with the use of black, white and grey and when he does add colour he doesn't use bright colours but more subtle like using more pastel colours.
I think it is safe to say that Lagerfeld is an inspiration to all designers and the way he has changed fashion is extraordinary, i know that if I want to be a designer there will be some big shoes to fill in the world of fashion.
The man himself.

Girly Grunge!

I didn't always like the grunge/rock & roll style, but over the past year or two i have been obsessed and it is now what i like to use to describe my personal style. Don't get me wrong, i still like to treat myself to a girly piece now and again but then mix it with a grungy piece. For example i just bought myself a navy blue lace top with a white peter pan collar, girly it may be but i can't wait to wear it with a pair of leather shorts. I love how easy it is to buy for my style now that the likes of Topshop, Newlook and Asos have added grunge items into their ranges. I also like how some places such as River Island have brought out pieces such as playsuits that have a girly /grunge idea to them like this one that will soon be entering my wardrobe:
Can't wait till i get this as already i am in love! I love how they have the black and white stripes that are a wee bit more grungy but have added the collar and bow to make it girly.
I also have to share my love of a pair of aztec leggings from Topshop which as first look slightly mirrored but when looking closer they're not. They are black with a grey pattern and i think they will look great just with an oversized top or on a night out with a pair of heels.
I have to admit as much as I've always loved Topshop, my love for them has grown stronger these last few months and these leggings will take a well deserved place in my wardrobe!

So hope you enjoyed! and if you have any good shops just leave a little comment :)
